Less talk, more photos

Last Saturday, my best vintage girlfriends and I were invited to a shoot at Cosmopolitan Magazine.

They were writing a piece about groups of girls getting ready to go out for the night, and they picked us; some Geordie lasses with blonde hair extensions, fake tans and long talons; some students; and some upper class debutantes. They picked us up from our homes, drove us there, shot us, gave us a slap-up lunch and drove us home. If only all shoots could be the same! It was a lovely day, and the results will be in the September issue, which comes out in August.

Here are some utterly fabulous photos taken by the one and only Hannah Asprey.

Thank you all for your kind words on my last blog post. My luck has not yet changed, sadly, because my remaining kitty, Inigo received a terrifying puncture wound in his eyeball on Sunday. My poor little man was so scared and sore, and the car journey to the emergency vet was awful, me crying and him yelling all the way there! Thank goodness he is insured because it’s already cost me almost £600 in vets bills! Luckily it’s looking very likely it’ll heal fine *touch wood*, with no loss of eye or sight… or beauty. He is, however, taking his confinement like a man (cat) and whinging and whining from morning till night. (Thanks again to Hannah for the analogy!)

Please save your kind thoughts for Ini this time, he needs them more than me. 🙂

well, splendid, miss. I like seeing how you get your hair rolled. I had no idea that you could use those bendable tubular things.

Second, and perhaps equally important as the first, Hope kitty heals toote suite! That's always nerve-wracking when a loved one (in this case, a feline) is ill in whatever way…

Feel better, Fleur.

Oh, no! Poor little cat-man! He looks so sad with his little cone on.:(
Last summer, my cat-man ate a tylenol and almost died. The drive to the vet at 3am was the -worst-. I know exactly how you feel! I'm sending him lots of love and happy thoughts!
You look stunning in that photo with the fan! What a lovely group of lady friends too! much love, darlin'!

Oh my! Poor Ini, how awful. I hope he gets well soon.

Those are beautiful photos, does this mean I'll have to actually buy Cosmo to see the finished product? I hope it has a freebie on the cover ;o)

poor little Inigo and and you have both been through so much of late. I hope he has a good recovery and we will think positive thoughts for him so he can have the cone of shame removed 😉 i'd call it the cone of silence but ours are never silent when they have worn them either.

the photos are just lovely!

We've had to stop letting our cats out without us because the neighbour lets his dog out without a lead. The snappy thing attacks the cats. Mike got some thick pond netting and is going to attach this to the windows. It lets the air in and stops cats getting out. Been thinking of Ini, especially when my little Draven whines to go out xxxx

Great photo shoot..so sorry to hear about your kitty. I have a shih tzu and when he was a puppy he knocked his eye on a door handle and it protubed (popped out sort of). It was very traumatic for me, so I really sympathize with you. I got him to the vet fast and they saved his eye…I really, feel for you. Hang in there. I went through about 7 years of what felt like trauma to me and I am just feeling better. I think you are about my daughters age, so I have my motherly hat on for this post. Things will turn around, they may not go as you planned, but I am a firm believer that it all works out. I created a website called "I Surrender This" when the worry and fear became too much. Sending you tons and tons of love and kitty too as well as angels to guide you and watch over you. xxoo

Poor cat, I bet he's making you suffer for everything you're doing as well. Cats seem to me to have magic guilt powers. Mine always make me guilty for doing things to help them! Hope he heals and forgives you soon!
Fabulous photos too – love the one of you fanning yourself.

Your poor pusskey, I hope he gets better soon for both your sakes!

The group photo of you and your girlfriends looks like it could have been taken in the 50's – fantastic.

Wishing you and Inigo better luck than you've had recently.

Such lovely photos! You are all absolutely beautiful! And I'm so so sorry to hear about your baby…I had to take my best friend to the vet earlier this week – he was really ill, but is doing much better now. I know I cried and hurt probably more than he! Amazing how we become so connected to these amazing and wonderful little creatures. All the best and sending healing thoughts your way 🙂

The photos are stunning, you all look yummy indeed 🙂 I will be on the lookout for the shoot!

I hope poor little Ini is doing okay now – and taking it like a real man, complete with all the whinging! His cone looks particularly dashing…

I know you're having a bit of a tough time, too – chin up, though, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I really appreciate you making the effort to show us snippets of your life even when you're not feeling at your best 🙂
